Lake Country's Purple Foamed Wool Pad is designed to cut through the clear coat more than any foam pad, but it also generates less heat. This means there's less risk of damaging the paint due to heat. We also find that the PFW is easier to control than the denser foam pads.

Smaller pads give you better control with your buffer, allowing you to get in tighter areas. On rotary buffers it scales down the bite of the product, so there is less risk in harming the paint. On random orbital buffers, it concentrates the energy in a smaller area, so you are able to break down polishes faster and more effectively. Any auto detailing enthusiast or professional should have a set of smaller, 4" pads!

This pad works as advertised on a DA 3 3/4" backing plate. I had some impossible-to-remove water spots on a neglected black finish. Menerzna Power Gloss on a yellow pad wouldn't handle it. The PFW 4" pad with PG took them right out.

As with any serious compound and wool, know your finish and thickness or you risk damage! I'll be adding a small rotary backing plate to the arsenal in order to use this pad with the rotary when needed.
