Paint Protection

There are three major steps in properly caring for your vehicles paint: contamination removal, removing imperfections, and paint protection. The third step is protecting your paint, which not only provides a barrier of protection to your paint, but also makes maintaining your vehicle much easier and enhances the finish of your vehicle. Paint protection comes in two forms, a sealant and a wax. Sealants will give you longer lengths of protection, usually up to 6 months. Sealants will typically enhance the shine of the vehicle, giving it more of a reflective look. Waxes typically yield about 4 - 8 weeks of protection, but for the period of time they are on the paint, it is argued that they provide better protection for bird droppings, water spots and more. Waxes will also yield more depth and gloss in the paint, giving you more of that wet look or hard candy look. Many enthusiasts will use a combination of a sealant and wax to get the best of both worlds in durability and in looks.
